Ohio candidate and NAZI uniform
I am not sure if you have seen or read the story regarding an Ohio congressional candidates history in WWII reenactments. (Story: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/39619593/ns/politics-decision_2010/?gt1=43001). My personal beliefs regarding the ethical right to wear such clothing is mixed. I believe we do need to learn about history through documentaries, text, and dramas. However reenactments, to me, have always seemed a little too farcical and lose the sense of history. At this point it becomes a game similar to "Cowboys and Indians" or, in the worst cases, the game becomes reality for those who play it. To me, the latter would suggest his support for the NAZI party. I know the candidate claims to have been against this; I hope he is telling the truth.
